Manufacturing/Project Engineer
Tier 1 Auto Parts Supplier
Base salary to $75,000

This position will be responsible for full scope of manufacturing engineering and project planning functions ranging from process development, tool/equipment design review, project planning and management to process troubleshooting, lean production activities, continuous improvement and engineering change implementation, all related to the stamping, welding and assembly processes. A bachelors degree in Engineering or closely related field is required with a minimum of 3 years experience in an automotive stamping and/or welding environment. Manufacturing engineering experience with project management responsibility is essential with a good working knowledge of QS9000/TS16949 systems (APQP, FMEA, GD&T and SPC). Must be literate in Microsoft Office applications including MS Project and Catia V5 experience would be beneficial.

This is a key management position that is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of a TQM system utilizing TS 16949 for this plant. You will lead by example and develop a plant wide responsibility for quality with the team members. Only those with proven leadership skills should apply. This person will be the liaison with the customer on all quality related issues. Bachelors degree in engineering or related field is mandatory. Specific education and training in Quality disciplines include a minimum of; Leadership/management experience, ISO / TS16949, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing. Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in metal/stamping; minimum 3 years in automotive. Full proficiency in basic leadership skills and systems, fundamental quality engineering concepts, practices and procedures, ability to teach and mentor in advanced statistical concepts, design of experiments, and problem solving methodology.

Responsible for developing and implementing processes concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for inspection, testing and evaluation. Involved in all functions of quality including GD&T, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans and work instructions. Experience with supplier evaluation/auditing, project management, and Six Sigma is a plus.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other technical area, with a minimum of 3-5 years experience working with quality systems in the automotive industry. Prior experience with metal stampings, welding and/or e-coat operations is preferred.
