Day to Day(what a typical day or week look like in this role)
This person, with minimal direction, implements programs and practices designed to increase the safety of the work environment and reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing operations within the entire facility.  Responsible for OSHA and environmental compliance along with daily interaction with the production workforce through ergonomic improvements and incident investigations.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and drive ergonomic initiatives throughout entire facility,  including manufacturing, technology and production teams.  
  • Responsible for leadership of implementation of EH&S due diligence and  remediation strategy for specific projects.  
  • Lead key projects to support factory master plan.  
  • Responsible for safety, cost and delivery improvement initiatives.  
  • Interaction with government agencies to ensure compliance.  
  • Determine root cause of injury analysis; interpret data to develop and  implement corrective actions.  
  • Analyzes and consults on the impact of new regulations and legislation  pertaining to worker safety, health, and environmental concerns.  
  • Assume responsibilities of current EH&S Manager in their absence.  
  • Perform Lean Sigma project work, and implementing Lean Manufacturing methodology throughout area of responsibility.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering including 3-5 years related  experience.  
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Methods required.  
  • Very strong understanding of OSHA and environmental compliance laws.  
  • Strong knowledge of ergonomic principles.  
  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification preferred.  
  • Project management experience is a must.  
  • PC proficiency utilizing MS Office and MS Project.  
  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills.  
  • Communication and support to 24-hour / day assembly processes.

Industrial Engineer (Materials)

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for supporting the materials department in developing lean material flow systems with primary emphasis on Materials processes internal to the Amana facility.
  • Work with manufacturing and other teams to optimize total cost.
  • Develop and maintain standard work for the materials organization including documentation of labor cost allocation.
  • Drive Lean and Six Sigma project work
  • Determine root cause of problems and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Develop projects to increase efficiency, inventory accuracy and delivery performance.
  • Provide support for the site's returnable packaging initiatives.
  • Provide back up support for second shift materials supervisor (minimal)

What You Need To Succeed

  • Requires BSIE, BSME or equivalent.
  • 3-5 year's related experience preferred, including experience in Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma production methods.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with all levels of the organization internal and external.
  • Strong computer knowledge including Auto CAD and MS Office including Access and Project.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to challenge current processes, to identify waste and drive improvement.
  • APICS or CPIM certification desired.
  • SAP experience a plus.


Human Resources Generalist

You would have responsibility for full scale HR generalist support, including employee/labor relations, workforce planning, staffing, organizational development compensation, employee communications, counseling employees and supervisors, assessing disciplinary actions, along with execution of programs to meet business objectives.

  • Responsible to perform professional level labor relations work in the area  of contract interpretation and administration, progressive discipline,  contract research/preparation.

This position will research, identify and evaluate sources for product needed for customer quotations and contracts and locate obsolete and end of life product for specific platforms.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry specific vendors

The position requires you to work on in-depth projects within key
manufacturing areas such as Assembly/Fabrication, Materials, Quality, Lean
Manufacturing, and Supply Chain functions. Day to day responsibilities will
include manufacturing execution systems support, software modifications,
database administration, ad hoc reporting requests, system troubleshooting,
and general project management.

What You Will Do:

  • Implement (design/coding/troubleshooting) mixed model production
    (manufacturing execution systems) across all assembly lines.
  • Manage database administration
